Dunkermotoren will be exhibiting at Passenger Terminal Expo for the first time

In 2024, Dunkermotoren, a brand of AMETEK, will be exhibiting at Passenger Terminal Expo for the first time. The world's largest trade fair for airport planning and operations is held at a different location each year and will welcome its visitors in Frankfurt am Main in 2024.

Gear motor solutions at an airport trade show?

At a first glance, it seems a bit surprising to find Dunkermotoren among the exhibitors at PTE. But the drive technology manufacturer's products have been used in various airport automation applications for years. Among others, they are used in Access gates and turnstiles that control passenger traffic and grant only authorized persons access to the boarding area and other secured areas. With the publication of EN17352 in 2022, standards for requirements and test methods of power-operated access control devices were defined for the first time. Dunkermotoren's gear motor solutions fully serve this standard and can thus support manufacturers of corresponding products in meeting the new requirements.

In addition to access control systems, the individually configurable solutions are being used in a wide range of applications for baggage handling. Dunkermotoren motors help transport baggage from check-in to short-term storage in an Early Baggage System (EBS) and manage the retrieval after landing. The compact design, networking via common fieldbus systems and individually programmable motion profiles open up countless application areas in airport automation.
