Bevel gearboxes of the KG series are characterized by a right-angle output and a small shaft offset. Bevel gearboxes are in demand whenever the drive needs to be particularly short, i.e., when there is limited axial space available. The efficiency is high and, as required for example in door drives, they are easily reversible. To bring the gear ratio into a range suitable for the application, an additional gear stage is usually preceded by the actual bevel gear stage. The output can be on one or both sides (WL1, WL2, WL3). Versions with hollow shafts are available, making them suitable for use as a slip-on gearbox. More torque required? This can be achieved by adding a planetary stage to the bevel gearbox.
The efficiency is significantly higher than that of worm gearboxes, and the gear efficiency can be up to 97%.
Our bevel gearboxes are particularly robust and are available in protection class up to IP 65 (IP = Ingress Protection). The output shaft has IP 52 and can be upgraded to higher protection classes by the customer if required.
