Planetary Gearboxes | PLG

Dunker´s planetary gearboxes (PLG) offer high continuous torque, compact design, low weight, and an excellent gear efficiency of typically 97%. The output shaft is coaxial (inline) with the motor shaft, meaning there is no offset. The various designs make it possible to achieve the properties suitable for the application. In addition, they can be adapted to customer requirements, such as the interface. They are maintenance-free and can be easily combined with our BLDC, DC, and AC motors.

Planetary gearboxes have a high gear efficiency of typically 97%. In terms of power density, they are far superior to other gear types, such as spur gears. The output shaft is concentric, meaning there is no shaft offset from the motor. In combination with motors, they typically do not protrude beyond the motor diameter, allowing the designer to create particularly compact designs. They can be mechanically adapted to the application. Special flanges and shafts are no problem. The helical gears enable high gear ratios of up to 14.5:1 in a single stage. This allows the drives to be built particularly short.

For requirements such as low temperatures, the gearboxes are lubricated with low-temperature grease. For the food and pharmaceutical industries, appropriate lubricants are available.
